GRIFFIN Jenkins

Griffin is a young musician turned educator who believes honesty and the ability to cut through the “fluff” are some of the best tools to have in the field of mental health work. Griffin has been on his mental health and recovery journey for 10 years now using self-help strategies and peer support services as crucial resources along the way. Formerly the Director of Education and Youth Services at the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, Griffin ran a variety of programs including a youth band camp, youth support group, cognitive behavioural programs, art-based therapy program, as well as delivered workshops for hundreds of businesses, schools, and organizations across Canada.

 

Griffin has also been recognized as one of the 150 Difference Makers in Canadian Mental Health by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health for his work at MDAM, and on the Youth Advisory Council for the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Currently, a student at the University of Winnipeg studying business, Griffin uses his experience and education to help organizations grow and provide the best programs possible.

 

Griffin hopes to give practical tools to all members of the mental health community so that people can receive support as early as possible.
